What a cutie, right? I have one nephew and one niece, each of whom steal my heart every time I set eyes on them. Sadly, we live so far away that I haven’t got to see them all too often in the past couple of years, so when this Aunt’s assistance is called upon, I just end up melting at their every requests.
My dear little nephew, who is now 4, called me a while back to make a simple request. He very politely asked me if I could make him a Mickey Mouse scarf. And so, for the first time, for his birthday last year, I wove a child’s size bamboo scarf in Mickey Mouse colors (which I took to be red, black, and white).
Until that time I had never really thought about weaving children’s scarves, and they are still probably not something that I will add to my regular inventory. But it was fun to weave a scarf for my little man. And oddly enough, shortly after I finished his scarf, I had a custom order request for a girls child size scarf (which I will show you in a later post).
So all this to say, I now have children’s scarves in my wheelhouse of experience, and if you are interested in a scarf for a little person in your life, feel free to contact me about a custom order!
And on a related note, if you would like a scarf of ANY different size, I am very willing to work with your requests. I know that some people like shorter scarves and others like extremely long scarves and I would be happy to make a custom size! The fringe I tie at the end of my scarves is optional as well in a custom order.
